US Government Offers Incentives to Let them Spy

The government is again working on ways to make sure there are back doors into any encryption products. The latest plan is to offer tax incentives to companies that provide backdoors into encryption schemes. In other words, the government is subsidizing weaker crypto for their own good. Certainly seems a bit questionable. Of course, if I were a business developing crypto and could think beyond the tax subsidy I would think that the fact that my crypto products had no back door will allow me to sell them for a higher price and to more customers, more than making up for the loss of the tax break. But, what do I know?
