Football Players Invest in VC Firms

from the money-money-money dept

Apparently, a group of professional sports players, led by two former 49ers are investing a large sum of money into the top VC firms in the Valley. The thing that I find most amusing is that the VCs seem most excited that they get to meet some football stars. I just hope this doesn’t turn into the VCs having hired “muscle” around to rough up startups that don’t like the valuations they ask for…

will work for courtside seats

professional athletes getting interested in startups is definitely very cool. imagine companies being able to offer their employees courtside seats and the ‘inside stuff’ at games. it’s an incredible recruiting carrot. i personally will join any company that can offer season courtside seats, access to player’s lounge and occasional travel in the team jet. 😉
