More on the AOL Messenger Fight

from the grasping-for-straws dept

Okay, this is getting silly. I still think that AOL should allow other instant messaging products to communicate with it, but I won’t support arguments that make no sense. The latest is that AOL should back down or it might risk losing its call for open access to cable lines. The theory is that AOL wants open standards/access only when it is to its advantage (which is entirely true) and this fight makes it clear how hypocritical AOL is. Interesting idea, but back here in reality the two cases are entirely different and shouldn’t effect one another.
