SDMI Spec Limits Copying

The SDMI spec was released Tuesday, and the group has flip-flopped again, this time ruling that copies can be limited. Wired has a good article that describes the challenge of securing music from being copied forever, without running into the legal boundries of the First Use doctrine (see the article for more details). The details may annoy even the biggest supporters of legal copying tools.
