The MBA Draft – recruitment into High-Tech

Derek Kerton writes “The Industry Standard examines the growth in MBA recruitment into High-Tech firms. As an MBA, this part of the article makes you feel valuable. They then select their top 100 candidates from the top schools’ class of ’99. This part may make you feel inadequate.” I’ve noticed a ton of articles recently about MBA’s going into high tech. While, obviously I think it’s a good thing, I am a little concerned at the number of MBAs looking to get into high tech that I’ve spoken to recently. There is the weird belief that they are coming to the rescue of crazy engineers, as opposed to really being a part of a team. My fear is that MBAs in the valley will get a worse name then they already have…
