Bill Gurley Jumps to Benchmark Capital

Hummer Winblad’s famous partner, Bill Gurley, has jumped ship to Benchmark Capital. Something of a surprise, as he’s extremely well known, and has certainly (in my opinion, at least) been a great PR vehicle for Hummer. This makes Benchmark even stronger as a VC firm. Gurley remains one of about three columnists around these parts who I always feel the need to read. I assume he’ll continue to write his columns, and give some of that PR value (as well as partner value) to Benchmark.
