because they are cheap and have a phone number you can reach directly. A lot of other web hosting companies have email or ticket system only. No phone number is posted anywhere.
As for price - for a holder of a large number of domains, they are still less expensive.
It depends on the staff. Some will match and others won't. I have also been refused a price match because the price was below cost and the sales clerk said they didn't have to match it.
this has nothing to do with electronic or hard copy. It is a business decision about throwing out a supplier who will not supply you with the same goods as other retailers.
building not an issue
the building will be a multi-tenant one with.
With the price of real estate in Toronto, the paper is just taking advantage of the increase. Currently their building is a 2 or 3 story one.
auctions end May 3
the only auction that has any bids is for the trademark, currently at 1,025.00 with 7 bids. Rest are just there.

stop using flickr
websites are cheap and you control everything. Just be careful of the hosting company.
Re: but godaddy
says you have legal action after.
godaddy out of touch
just got a sales call from a rep at godaddy. I get these every so often asking for longer sales periods for the server plan etc.
I mentioned the jotform problem. No clue. Seriously, none. He would talk to his supervisor to see what is going on.
Seems the Public Relations department keeps their head in the sand.
Re: Re: godaddy the problem
"Why is anyone still using godaddy anyways ?"
because they are cheap and have a phone number you can reach directly. A lot of other web hosting companies have email or ticket system only. No phone number is posted anywhere.

godaddy the problem
talked to staff in president's office. They take down first and then maybe ask questions.
My godaddy server is going elsewhere shortly.

Re: This video is not available in your country
firefox (using an older version) with x-forwarded-for-spoofer addon. Works for these videos but won't for hulu.
liability
SOPA gave ISP and companies like godaddy blanket immunity if they took down a site on after a complaint.
too late, too little
godaddy is not against SOPA, just not supporting it at this time

Their position on DMCA is the worst also - delete and ask questions later.
I will move my domains just before they expire during the next year. Server to follow.

Re: Brick and Mortar need to stop "ignoring" online
yes this happens locally in Canada.
It depends on the staff. Some will match and others won't. I have also been refused a price match because the price was below cost and the sales clerk said they didn't have to match it.
techdirt is copied
for money.
The site has lots of original content. Some sites will clone the content to get ad revenue.
Other will clone the content in order show better on search and then allow links to their own site.
A business decision
this has nothing to do with electronic or hard copy. It is a business decision about throwing out a supplier who will not supply you with the same goods as other retailers.
hijack accounts
one trend has been to hijack adwords account of existing advertisers and then put on the phara ads.
I also wonder how some of the ads were approved. A simple filter would have stopped about half of them.
