It just seems like a bad move because (and apparently you have misunderstood this) artificial scarcity is not a good thing

Google is trying to add the 'cool' factor to the launch of Google+. They have succeeded so far.
There was drugs in the car, these were problem people, the cops were not wrong in what they did with them
If there were drugs in the car, the problem people would have been arrested. But guess what, they were let go. Hmm.
It certainly doesn't matter whether or not the child did anything.
The parent told the police that they didn't have any right to question their child without their observation and/or an attorney present. That is their right under our laws.
The POLICE broke the law and even if the child admitted to them that he had in fact thrown it, his statement would likely get thrown out of court. And with it the whole case.

If the video only showed the cops beating him, how can you say that he resisted strongly prior to that?
