First, I'm not convinced it's spying when these are comments made in a publicly accessible forum.
Second, they may have a legitimate reason for monitoring accounts they are aware of. Their handbook prohibits posting pictures of students and faculty without obtaining permission first.
Third, their handbook doesn't mention language regarding student conduct, other than that used in a threatening manner. I think they overstepped their authority in this case.
Regarding the AFL-CIO... For the majority of my adult life I supported the concept and implementation of employee unions. Then, I had the opportunity to join one of the largest in the nation, the Communication Workers of America.
I became active within the organization and was elected to the executive board of our local branch. From this vantage point I was able to observe the workings of the union on both a local and national level.
Based on my observations and experience, I will never support another union organization in this country in the current state of their existence. Mismanaged funds, petty rivalries, thuggish behavior and more have convinced me that unions in the US are currently no different than the bloated corporations that they claim to be against.
The reason no one trusts the AFL-CIO any more is not just because they get the facts wrong. It's also because the union leaders only represent themselves and not the average working person who they claim to represent.
Besides my HUGE problem with "Homeland Security" enforcing what are basically civil matters, I don't understand why these companies don't just work a deal with the "pirates" and create an authorized product.
Did they contact the t-shirt seller? I'd bet that they just need to contact the seller and offer a contract in which they share the profits, you know... licensing. Unless the seller is unreasonable, the whole deal could be done in less than a week.
The TSA has already begun a feasibility study to determine how best to place agents to inspect each car owner before they take to the skies. This will be a boon for the scatter imaging manufactures as each household will be required to purchase, maintain and staff each scanner.
I voted you "insightful" because I believe you provided insight.
I particularly enjoyed your deliberate misspellings. They were sparse but effective. Though, I did notice your unintentional correct spelling of "shitty" and your unintentional misspelling of "hit". I have to say, though, that with your talent I think these are shortcomings you will be able to correct.
Your grammar falls short of the intelligence you've thus provided so far. I found many of your sentences difficult to chew, let alone digest. I would recommend that in future installments you focus on grammatically rich sentences and less on the savory aspects of misspellings.
I think you have a great future as a commenting troller, but you need to focus on things that truly represent your opinions and don't sound as if you're trolling just to be trolling.
No need to thank me, your mother did several years ago...
Are you fucking serious? Some of us didn't find the post funny. It wasn't a call to string Tim and Mike up by their necks from the nearest tall tree.
Jeez... get a grip on yourself.
And, yeah, the accumulation of money (or wealth) is the driving force of civilization. Get used to it. You don't like money? Go be a monk and leave the rest of us alone.

The more you tighten your grip, Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.

The OWSers should put on their Che Guevara t-shirts and protest the guys who hijacked their revolution in order to sell t-shirts.

There's also the fact that they would see it as giving away free copies of their content when they really want you to buy the DVD collection.

Mike, be prepared to receive a "request" from their lawyer demanding you take down their picture for violating their publicity rights.
Re:
I'd really like to know why you think this article is "worker-bashing".
I'd also like to know why you think this is a "bandwagon".
Maybe you're being sincere and just don't know any better, or maybe you're being disingenuous by offering a straw man argument.

Nice article, Mike. I think it's one of the best that I've read here.

I wish... I only clicked into the article to read the comments about the typo. Maybe tomorrow there will be better ones.

Maybe the events are more more closely related than you know?

Re:
Yes, it does. And that's what happened in Iraq before the US invaded.

Satire? Yes. Funny? No.

Sorry, but the problem isn't the companies. The problem is the government. So, your "arguments" hold no water with me.
