Not quite as bad as that, the NY Yankees could probably build a new stadium in another part of New York without the fuss. Apparently Spurs (or Tottenham Hotspurs as they are known) can't.
But Liverpool could move anywhere across Liverpool without this trouble, since Tottenham isn't that big a place (it's just a small part of London), it's basically impossible for Spurs to move around inside it if they really wanted.
I'm just amazed that a company can spout such ridiculous misinformation, and (a) get away with it, and (b) get politicians to listen to it.
Over here in the UK we have lots of regulators, every time one of the broadband suppliers starts making absurd claims, all the others go to Ofcom and make complaints so they don't look so bad.
Personally if I voted for any of the chimps that are listening to this, I'd be complaining to them first, and not voting for them next time round.
Since when were Apple an independant source for good advice? Apple advises music industry to wait till it has it's own offering (and can therefore cream more cash from fanbois), nothing new about that.
So they bought themselves time to catch up with the times, and stopped any competition getting a good foot in the American market door. Sounds like a good plan (for them) to me.
its also very interesting to read the comments above, while some are interesting others seem to jump to the defence of "we are still bigger/better", i think anyone can spot the american posters with ease.
it seems to me that the average (and i dont mean everyone!) american has a hard time accepting they are not the world, the ignorance of some people really astounds me, accept that america does not own everything, look round your house and see all those japanese items like your TV/DVD player? read underneath about 1/2 your household appliances and you will see "made in china/taiwan", you guys send billions abroad every year which will hurt your economy and you wonder why its struggling? sure it makes the rich exec's get million dollar bonuses as they have saves the company money, but in the long term your draining money from your own country

How many people have a store card? I mean c'mon, people whinge about google's policy, what about the personalised offers you get from tesco on products you purchase regularly (or are similar to)?
Every time you swipe your tesco store card they know where you live, what you bought, when was the last time you bought it, but who cares enough to complain? Nobody. If you don't like this you dont hand over your card at the till. People who are really that concerned about this kind of thing need to start taking responsability for their own online actions.
And on topic, I can't really blame them for putting in advertising, its more the hyping up that annoys me, these "security firms" like to make their own news, just like some popular UK Newspaper journalists sneaking a box marked "bomb" into Parliament ... when companies/newpapers start making their own breaking-super-important-life-altering-news you know its not with the time to read.
is this home or work? i turn my home computer off, several reasons including room heating ;) and bills, but my work computer is on 24/7 because of nightly updates/AV checks etc.
