  • Security Theater… Or Why I Had To Go Dumpster Diving At The US Capitol Last Week

    Tetsubo ( profile ), 28 Jan, 2012 @ 05:10am

I have a chance to go to Hawaii in the fall. I would stay there for free. I will not be going because of the TSA and the security theater that they perpetuate. I will not throw away my 4th amendment rights to get onto a glorified bus.

    B&N Vlogging

I was shooting a video of myself in B&N recently. I had an employee give me a hassle about it. Once I told him I was recording *myself* it seemed to take the wind out of his sails. I fail to see how a video of *book covers* is going to violate any form of copyright. But than I am not an American corporation nor it's faithful droogs.

  • TSA Told To Tell Children That Groping Them Is A Game… Horrifying Sex Abuse Experts

    Tetsubo ( profile ), 03 Dec, 2010 @ 09:25am

I'm a survivor of sexual abuse. This policy disgusts me on so many levels. The man that public stated this needs to be fired and fired NOW. No one and I mean NO ONE should touch a minor in this manner other than a parent or a medical professional at the request of a parent. Keep your groping hands off of America's kids TSA!

Could someone please return our 4th amendment rights? It seems that they have been stolen...

  • New Cable Talking Point Against Cord Cutters: They May Be Cutting, But They're Poor Nobodies

    Tetsubo ( profile ), 29 Oct, 2010 @ 07:28am

I have Comcast as both my cable provider & internet provider. I was going to cancel the cable portion of my plan due to income issues. Than they told me that I would actually save $1 a month if I kept the basic cable plan with my internet access. So I did. Mostly I watch the news.

    The Gipper

Prior to the Bush II administration, I considered the Reagan administration to be the most corrupt within the past century. 'W' of course made him look like a Boy Scout. But Reagan was an evil man. He trained terrorists on American soil and then released them onto the world. His economic 'policies' laid the foundation for the destruction of the American middle class. His handling of the AIDS crisis should go down in history as an example of how not to deal with an emerging disease. In short, everything he touched was tainted forever. He was a horrible president and a morally reprehensible human being. Yet the right has turned him into a saint. It disgusts me and reminds me regularly why I will never support a conservative candidate.

  • Is Free Parking Costing Us Billions?

    Tetsubo ( profile ), 17 Aug, 2010 @ 03:03pm

My downtown has installed a new form of parking meter. It is a kiosk that dispenses a paper ticket that you then put on your dash. Which means you have to get out of your car, walk to the kiosk, purchase ticket, walk back to your car, put it on your dash and then go about your way. Rather than get out of your car, put coins into a standard meter and go about your way. In addition they can 'double dip' each parking space if you leave before your purchased time has expired. The next person coming in will pay for that same spot again. Even though you have already paid for that time. Passing a paper ticket onto another person is illegal. Since installing this system, I simply refuse to go downtown. Way to go downtown businesses!

  • Tipping Point? Quarter Of All Homes Have Totally Abandoned Landlines

    Tetsubo ( profile ), 13 May, 2010 @ 02:46pm

I cut my phone landline around two years ago. The only people that called me were telemarketers, surveys, politicians and my Father. My Father could learn to use my cell number. It saves my wife and I around $500 a year.

I still have a cable TV line though. Because it saves me money. I have a cable modem. I called and told the cable company I wanted to cancel my cable TV contract. I just couldn't afford it any longer. They told me that my cable modem would run me $59.95 per month alone. But if I kept my basic cable line it would be a total of $58.95 a month for both. So I get around 14 channels and save myself a $1 a month. I mostly watch the news.

  • Paper Industry Wishes You'd Ignore Environmentalists, Print More

    Tetsubo ( profile ), 12 May, 2010 @ 03:02pm

I prefer to read PDFs in print. I just can't handle sitting at a computer to read a 300+ page document. So I bought myself a laserjet printer. I can get 4000 double sided copies out of a $40 ink cartridge. Staples will bind them for $3.49 as well. So, uber cheap documents that I can take anywhere and I don't need a DRM laced e-reader.

    iPad

I simply have no use for this product. Or any dedicated e-reader either. Until we have right of first ownership for digital material I won't be buying any digital content. Or the device designed to use it. Plus the thought of that nice, big screen without any cover just mkaes me shiver. I can pick up a netbook for less and never worry about the screen. Jobs can kiss my rump.

  • When Does It Stop Being 'Sexting' And Start Being Something More Serious?

As someone else pointed out, nudity is not pornography.

If America would free itself of its Puritan shackles life would be so much more sensible.

Ellison has always been this way, he will always be this way. How about we collectively ignore him and allow him to fade into obscurity? Fark him.

    Re: Re: Re: Re:

First, ask yourself the question: Is the person brown? If yes, they might be Evil. Once identified, arrest and waterboarding are soon to follow.

I have yet to see *any* evidence that any terrorist has ever actually used a picture taken in public during an attack. But it sure does add some flair to the security theater.
