  • Is Lobbying Closer To Bribery… Or Extortion?

    RevCharlieD ( profile ), 10 Apr, 2012 @ 08:57am

    How Exciting!

What a wonderful opportunity for those with all the advantages money can buy to take advantage of others with the same advantage. God I love this country. Not only do the rich prey on the working class and poor, they prey on each other. Now that?s equal treatment and opportunity.

I agree that America needs to wake up, but who will ring the bell? How can you distract the not-so-intelligencia from their reality TV, Fox Entertainment (I will not call it news) and the Oprah Wimpy Network. How can information compete with the gladiatorial games of the week, day, hour, etc? Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, NASCAR, Curling, Ice Dancing, Figure Skating, the Olympics, and Soccer cannot be ignored. We are so distracted that it takes an earnest effort to find real information and valuable data to keep informed. Everything is couched in the ?Entertainment? comforter and disguised as news for the rabble. If you listen to these sound-bites you might feel informed, but only come away confused.

There are honestly too few real sources of information worthy of consideration. There is too much noise and too little music for those that care. We really need to work to find the pearls among the swine. Or was that casting your pearls as swine? No, it was making a silk purse from a Congressman?s ear.

Still is should all be illegal, but then how could it be if the nation is built on this activity?

    One Nation, Under Guard

This is what it?s come to; the death of freedom with the click of the handcuffs, and the DA?s offer of a deal, and the swing of the gavel. This is what we fought wars for, this is what our friends and loved ones died for, and this is why we look to our leadership for counsel and guidance. Direction that leads us closer to the realization the Orwell was right, we just never noticed it.

I am ashamed of this country and what we have become. We are the laughing stock of the world and we think they are laughing with us, not at us.

Beam me up Scotty, there is no intelligent life here.

    Fare Use

If I listen to a tune, then sing that tune all day, I need to pay not only ASCAP and BMI, but the artists as well because of this fair (or is it fare) use...

It's all about the money honey... Nothing more... I was never a real fan of these Californicators: They've lost me for sure now... So that's what Van Dyke does... Parks....

    SOPA & PIPA

DO youactually think that Congress cares about us? Do you think we represent a significant portion of the world; enough so that we could garner support or even gain there ear? When we contribute the amounts of money that the proponenets and benificiaries of these bills do we will have Congress ear, then thsy will listen, not before.

    Good luck

  • Louisiana Makes It Illegal To Use Cash For Secondhand Sales

    RevCharlieD ( profile ), 20 Oct, 2011 @ 11:57am

    Everything is second hand

Would not everything fit this this law? If an item is sold to a retailer by a wholesaler, could this not be considered second hand? Granted the item has never been used, but it could be stretched that way.

It looks like the yardsale and thrift stores will be in the dumper. I wonder of the banks and credit card companies forced this through just to garner more seond tier revenue? Can you imagine a prostitute having to carry a point of sale terminal?

  • Couple Pushes For Law To Limit Photoshopping Models; Because It Hurts Young Girls' Self-Esteem

    RevCharlieD ( profile ), 18 Oct, 2011 @ 12:28pm

    Self Esteem

I agree with Mike Masnick. Why not invest in creating working self-images and solid self-esteem. Rather than taking your sense of self from a magazine or photograph, have an actualized self-image and not worry what the world or other people see. It is certainly more healthy and a lots simpler. If you want to be a stick figure with poufy lips, then go for it. If you want to be real? that?s even better.

  • MPAA So Thrilled With Zediva Ruling, It Offers To Help The Court Spread It

    RevCharlieD ( profile ), 06 Sep, 2011 @ 07:30am

    My Cables too long

If you follow this to the next conclusion jump ? the manufacturer, and the supplied of these extra long cables will be liable for enabling the illegal activity, they become complicit. Stalin had the right idea?
Maybe MPAA should require warning labels on the DVD and Cable packaging regarding potentially illegal activities associated with the use of this product. It would certainly apply to the minors and those who rent DVD?s for group consumption. I know? Let?s require a Web Cam on every DVD player so the MAPP can count the number of people viewing the DVD. They could create software the counts the occupants of the room and charge accordingly. Just enter your credit card number to view the movie.
We are pathetic? This is the level of intelligence on this planet? Beam Me UP!

  • Man Facing 75 Years In Jail For Recording The Police; Illinois Assistant AG Says No Right To Record Police

    RevCharlieD ( profile ), 02 Sep, 2011 @ 12:37pm

    Recording - Illegal

The fear of repercussion is driving these laws. When the police act inappropriately, they should be punished, but when all of the police act badly they enact laws to control public view. When the law no longer pertains to enforcers we have lost liberty and freedom. We have lost our right to protection from the people we hire to protect us. One more time around the bowl and down we go?
