Illinois is already a de facto Police State with Chicago as it's capital. Only the elite have any expectation rights and those are fleeting at best. If you're satisfied as a serf then Illinois is the place to be. Either stay or flee. There is no middle ground.
I hope DirecTV tells Viacom to take a walk. There is very little content that I would miss that can't be found elsewhere. Just cut my DirecTV bill and I'll like it even better.
How dare these people want to keep THEIR money and spend it for stupid things like food, clothing, fuel, and housing. Don't they know that the government knows what they need and what the money needs to be spent on better than they do? After all there are poor starving government wards that need food, clothing, fuel and housing more than they do. Without the government insuring social justice what would happen to Texas and the world. /Sarcasm
BTW, why are all the loonies Anonymous Cowards? I guess I would be ashamed to own up to an opinion that the government can spend more efficiently than anyone who has honestly earned a dollar.
More sites than I'm going to spend time on. Sites have been shut down with no due process or notification. How many of the sites could be considered a national threat is dubious at best but then again DHS provided obtuse response when ask for justification. Here is a recent article from Techdirt. There are many more. I don't know or care what the sites were about or what they do but the Constitution gives every American rights that DHS can't deny.
Now that the MPAA and RIAA have partnered with Homeland Security the old business model of using lawyers to sue is no longer needed. DHS apparently doesn't need court approval or any justification to shut down any site that the a major financial contributor desires. Not sure how this will affect the lawyers but for the MPAA and RIAA all legal cost are now paid by the taxpayers.
I think this is an overreaction. True there is already data but the data remains with the agency from which the FOIA was made. The priority of most government agencies is CYA (Cover Your Ass). The executive branch has shown that transparency is just a word but never a practice. Someone besides the executive branch has to set standards but without data all that results would be GIGO. Not compiling the data because of fear would only give the offending agencies more reason to avoid processing a FOIA.
NBC is used to making mistakes and has a long line of mistakes over several decades. Comcast won't improve this but will enhance their mistake making abilities. Hulu is aberrant from NBC's normal business model and must be brought in line.
I purchased Win7 Ultimate from New Egg last year because I wanted to be legal. I installed it on a newly built system in Dec 2009. Less than 6 months later a Windows notification told me that my copy was unauthorized and only allowed limited access. I still had the original package and didn't share the auth code with anyone. I called Microsoft and they wouldn't help because my copy was OEM. I called New Egg and was told they only warrant software for 30 days. That was $200 wasted on my attempt to be legal and I was treated as if I was a pirate. I'm not made of money and $200 is not something to laugh at. I can get Open Source for free or at a low cost. No more software from Microsoft or New Egg for me. I'll use my money for something that I can trust.
I think it was very polite of the thieve to at least provide the owner his data. Sort of reminds me of a holiday in southern France where some gypsies broke into my car and stole my CD/Radio. They broke the smallest window in the car and carefully removed the CD/Radio with no cut wires or ripped dash. They even removed the CD, I guess because it wasn't their kind of music.
You have to hand it to them for being true professionals. It could have been worse. They could have plastered all the data all over the internet. Count your blessings.
It's check-in time for Gene Simmons in the Alzheimer Ward. I hope 'Anonymous' shuts the fat f**k down. His time passed 30 years ago. Why dredge up old manure.
I remember the time when you could do something stupid and you would only have to feel the fool for as long as the people around you remembered your stupidity or you moved somewhere else. No longer, when show your ass to the world expect to be internationally ridiculed and the worst is that the internet never forgets.
The best thing that you can do is find a way to monetize your stupidity. Might as well get paid for it.
Time is as relevant as VHS. It's time has passed and it's new is stale. I think they'll find that there are only a few dinosaurs will to lay out cash for yesterdays news that everyone else got for free.
How does Apple get away with this crap. I'm sure there are more iPads and iWhatevers out there and the owners have very little personal control content manipulation. So tell me where Microsoft has done anything different than what Apple does everyday?
If they were doing a reboot of the infamous Apple Mac's 1984 commercial today Steve Jobs would be the character on the big screen preaching to his fanbois. Funny how Apple predicted it's own future.

No UN
I don't want the UN in charge of anything. They are the most corrupt organization on this planet.

Vote these parasites out.
Bye Bye Viacom

Damn Gutenberg
Damn Gutenberg. He put all the Town Criers (Bellmen) out of business depriving people of that personal link with the news.
Please
The question you need to ask is; Are you more transparent now than you were four years ago?
A Good Example
A good example of moderate national socialism at work.

Any idiot in a hurry would know that these are too important to scrutinize. After all there's lots of green in dem dar hills.
