    Once an asshole...

Once an asshole, ALWAYS an asshole....

    When you lie...

See, when most everything out of your mouth is a lie, you really really have to be VERY careful and have a VERY good memory to remember WHO you told what, and WHEN you told them. If you can't do this, then you're gonna be exposed as a liar. Looks like this is Mr Steel's problem...

    Re: That last line -

I wonder what those "sanctions" might be.. hopefully, disbarment at the VERY least, a nice suitable 7 figure fine, and -- we can only dream -- all of that PLUS a stint in the PMITA federal pen for em all.. We can only dream...

    Re:

Just goes to show you how unbelievably stupid a large number of people today are.. MOST intelligent people, when a company screws them, will stop dealing with the company in question, rather than doubling down and giving the company MORE $$. Since we're talking about a flippin' GAME, not anything critical, you gotta be pretty damned screwed up in the head to buy ANYthing EA sells...

Re: ...and ATT is charging a subsidy for a phone they didn't subsidize

Sprint does this too.. I bought an LG smartphone on eBay that I intended to use on Virginmobile. Unfortuantly, I was unaware that a Sprint-branded LG phone will not work (without tricks of dubious "legality") on VM's network, despite the fact that VM's "network" IS Sprint's network... I figured I'd see if what Sprint had for non-subsidized phones. At a Sprint store, I asked about non-contract plans.. Droid sez there ARE none.. Ok, you're not subsidizing any handset, why do you think you're entitled to lock me in for two years? droid just looked at me funny... I wound up reselling the Sprint-branded phone on eBay for more than I paid for it, and bought a VM-branded phone of the EXACT same model... Got in on the last of the VM $25/mo 300 min/text/data plan... Still getting it too despite the price increase..

So long Cisco, you just couldn't resist, could ya?

Ever since the early 90s, when I became involved with network support in my day-jobs, I'd always bought/recommended/wrote PRs for Cisco equipment. Now I'm semi-retired, doing part-time consulting for small businesses/home users. Until this, I had always recommended Cisco/Linksys for home users, and Cisco's small business Integrated Networking routers/firewall products for small business. This stops NOW.. Yes, I realize I'm only one.. But if you stop and think about how many "me's" there are in tech-dom, who do EXACTLY the same things I do, and are just as fed up with this kind of b.s. activity by corporations, you'll see that "recommender backlash" has a VERY good chance of putting a severe dent into Ciscos bottom line. Once a company has lost its credibility, its close to impossible to get it back, ESPECIALLY with tech companies who, even though they probably won't admit it, rely on recommendations by knowledgable techies who just happen to have LONG memories... Like maybe SONY?? Real stupid, Cisco, for you to emulate Sony...

Re: Re: Cops are just employees

It's called the "thin-blue-line".. This insures that ALL cops, both good AND bad, back each other up.. This makes the good cops (yes, I still believe there are *some*) complicit in this kind of abuse, assuming they become aware of abuse by their corrupt "brethren".. ANY cop who witnesses abuse lilike this who does not "blow the whistle" on the abuse, I feel, is guilty of complicity in the crime by the corrupt cops.

    Re:

ummm.. I realize you're an AC, but you might at least TRY to read the article? it states the people recording the incident were WATCHING their friend go by on a motorcycle. NOWHERE does it say the rider of the motorcycle was operating a cellphone as a camera at the same time...

I normally have some respect for cops, but the more I read these stories of blatant disrespect of the law/Constitution by LEOs I'm losing what respect I have for them. I realize these bad eggs (ie: these LEOs) are somewhat of a minority (I HOPE) but I'm to the point where I see a cop doing cop-things, I comment to the wife, "looks like Porky the Pig is out working"....

Re: Re: Whine (as Dave Frandin)

Depending on the app, it could be trivial to circumvent the block.. There is an opensource program called "streamripper" that allows recording of streamed content, and sounds like thats what this program is also. Some stream operators don't care for streamripper connecting to their streams, so they block anything with a user-agent id with streamripper in it. Streamripper's configuration allows you to change how streamripper reports itself to the stream server, such as changing it to "mozilla firefox" for example.. Unless they want to block everyone using Firefox, this bypasses this brain-dead block easily...

Re: Re: Re: Re: A police officer, not The Police

Well, assuming for a moment that you really ARE a police officer, *you* may be a fine upstanding office of the law, but EVERYTIME you turn your back when one of your brother officers pulls crap like this, this makes you a BAD COP!!
If you're not part of the solution, you ARE part of the problem..

    Re: Its personnel

They NEVER do lose their jobs over these incidents.. The "thin blue line" protects them... The only way these incidents are going to stop is for people to capture these incidents on video, and youtube them, AND that "thin blue line" is legally erased..

    Re: Its personnel

Don't count his career being tainted.. I'm gonna bet he winds up being chief in that department. And yes, the increasing number of bad cops give the ever decreasing number of good cops a bad name. Which is why I will never willingly give a police officer more than I'm legally required (name/address).. I'm not taking a chance that the cop is one of the good ones...

Golllllleeee.. you're only *just* now losing faith in your "representative"???? I can't remember the last time I had any respect/faith in my "representative".. (just a note: I'm 61 years old)

Re: A military-industrial gov't that started the Iraq war with lies, (as Dave Frandin)

Frankly, I'm VERY surprised that the current inhabitant of the Whitehouse didn't get his stooges in DHS to stage one of these "false flag" incidents, giving him the opportunity to declare martial law, shut down all media besides "Pravda" (the MSM), "postpone" the election. I'm betting his advisers are saying "I told you so...".....
