    I thought that as well; especially if he has a RAID striped across the drives. If they were also encrypted that would make data recovery VERY difficult indeed.

    The phones have to be on to be detected by most equipment and the make-up of the walls and heavy use of metal (bars, etc.) can also interfere with detection equipment. They do perform searches for contraband from time to time and when they find stuff like that they confiscate it and generally punish the offender. A local-area jammer would make the phones useless and therefore worthless to the prisoners, removing their desire to acquire them (as another poster mentioned above, generally from guards, believe it or not...).

    You are correct; guards must leave their phones in their cars, locked up, if they bring them at all. My father works at a prison and doesn't even bother taking his to work at all. A jammer would help prevent the gang-related activities carried out with contraband phones. Prison phones are monitored and recorded so their exclusive use goes beyond just "money".

    I was VERY pleased with the Warcraft III Collector's Box and frequently show it off as an example of "what to do". Conversely I felt very cheated by the Half Life 2 Collector's Box which came with the game on a single DVD instead of multiple CDs and a X-Large tee-shirt (that looks like a tent on me) and frequently point that out when showing how great Blizzard did with Warcraft III. My opinion of Blizzard as a company is much higher than that of Valve, even though I love the games Valve creates. I feel like Valve ripped me off and I *still* get annoyed when I think about that, years later.

    As Pangolin mentioned mobile TV is wildly popular in Asian markets. In Japan everyone has a mobile TV enabled device (sometimes more than one). Their cell-phones are far more capable than ours (for a variety of reasons). I think these features and functionality would be popular here if they were put on the market however the infrastructure for some of these is lacking. That being said, I don't think there's a problem with the idea (i.e. screen too small, etc.) so much as a general lack of awareness as to what's already out there in foreign markets. If non-Asian market consumers were more aware of the capabilities of these other handsets I believe the demand would grow rapidly.
