So she has direct knowledge of someone engaging in transmitting pornagraphy to minors and she is withholding that information because they were paid off?
She is worse than the the people they are extorting.
And you would find a clause that says if you put a SIM card in a data-capable device you will be charged for data.
The only way to be consistent here is to charge all smartphones data. There are too many stupid people out there that have no clue how to operate a smartphone and giving people the ability to have a smartphone without a data plan is asking for trouble. As a result, all smartphones get charged data.
Don't forget to blame the manufacturers too. How many Smartphones are available that can only access WiFi? None.
How is it treason for exposing the fact that DynCorp, a US Security contractor, was pimping little boys to Afghan men at US Taxpayer sponsored parties? He should be given a medal for what he did.
DO NOT CLICK THRU. VERY NSFW. Caps for emphasis. Seriously, if you are at work DO NOT CLICK THRU. Picture if a penis at attention with the name of the album written on it.
What's even funnier is the image that is used on Electa Grahams book 'Blood and Loss' shows up in lots of other places. But, knowing the thorough and copyright-respecting individual she is, she probably licensed it.
Yup that's the point of Anonymous. Could be anyone, could be everyone. And yes, there is a Robin-Hood aspect to it because these things are done in the spirit of Anonymous. Also, this is blamed on Anonymous because they are the ones that actually did it...
I'm pretty sure that standing up for something you believe in while others are pressuring you to 'conform' to their standard and not hiding your identity is pretty much the opposite of coward.
Calling Mike Masnick a coward while hiding behind an Anonymous Coward tag shows who the real coward is. Enjoy your self righteous indignation while it lasts.
Maybe Andy Warhol should have licensed his Tomato Soup painting to Campbell's so they could pay him to put their own image on the can of tomato soup he was painting.
On second thought, I'm glad he didn't. The ensuing singularity would have annihilated the universe.
At least he has fans. And he makes money without enforcing copyright on his works. So yeah, I do admire him for that. I also admire him for not censoring (except in cases of child porn) the comments. I can't even post on the MPAA or RIAA blogs. Not that I would. So yeah. Mike has fans.
He is not right in any way. If I buy a CD I am buying the music, not the format. As long as I retain the CD after I rip it, I am obeying the law. If I buy the CD, rip it, then return or sell it, then I am in the wrong.
I have a PS3 that I no longer use and one day I sued it to prop a door open. Was I in the wrong? I was using it in a different way than Sony intended...
RIM is a failing company. Their ship is sinking because they cannot adapt quickly enough. Look what happened when they tried to play catch-up with tablets - they released a tablet that could not access email. That's plain stupid. As their stock price slides into oblivion patent trolling will become more attractive regardless of how much the lawyers get.
This could backfire against the US. His fame and notoriety have increased as a result of the actions against him. What if his album is about kittens and puppies, but because of all this exposure, his sales went through the roof?

Re: Why doesn't TechDirt wear the logos of its sponsors?
Because Techdirt isn't an elected official.

He should issue a takedown on the clip that used his jingle.

There are some very happy corn farmers right now. Or would that be just Monsanto?
Re: Re:
Appalled or aplaud?
Not sure if pun intended or just misspelled...

A corporation that has no ethics should be demonized. Also, I'd throw in Satanized for good measure.

Yes this is a serious question.
