Considering that a mugshot has specific requirements, is there any creative expression? Without creative expression are there any copyrightable elements?
Watch Arrested development for free, the same way many people watched house of cards for free. All you have to do is sign up for a new Netflix account and then you have 30 days to watch as much as you want before canceling without being charged. As I recall Netflix said about 10% people did that for House of Cards, which means 90% of people that signed up just to watch House of Cards decided to keep the subscription.
In general art museums should have very limited rules around photography. 1. Rules the preserve the art, such as no touching and no flash photography. 2. Rules that preserve access, such as no tripods except with permission/fees.
Beyond that non-commercial uses should be allowed by default. Commercial uses should probably require negotiations with the copyright holder. Something from Da Vinci should be wide open, something by Dale Chihuly, less so.
I wonder if anyone would sue, or start a class action suit for attempted manslaughter for denial of patented life saving treatments or diagnostics. I bet company directors would change tactics if patenting therapies open the company or the directors to lawsuits.
What a wasted teaching opportunity. They should have been taught the 4 rules of gun safety.
1. All guns are loaded.
2. Never point a gun at anything you don't intend to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire
4. Be sure of your target and what is behind it.
Then they should have been required to spend 10-20 minutes in imaginary target practice with their pencils until they can pretend to hit the bullseye every time they pretend to fire.
Last I heard Aereo does some significant location verification to make sure that you are actually in the same market as where their antenna is located. So the only thing you are getting from Aereo is stuff you could get if you were able to put up your own antenna.
CBS is spiting people who want to watch badly enough to pay someone for the privilege of receiving something that is broadcast for free.
Stop wasting time talking CBS, get off your ass and move to cable. Oh BTW with your reduced audience I'm afaid you aren't worth the premium advertising rates you were previously charging, so good luck staying in business. Unless you think you can go toe to toe with HBO in HBO's backyard.
Based on being required to review the Prop 65 list once for my job, I'm pretty sure the warning sticker for your scissors should have it's own sticker.
Has anyone bothered to do the calculus to compare how badly your life will be ruined defending against a copyright suit vs defending assault or murder charges for attacking the RIAA/MPAA lawyers? Once it happens a few times the cost to hire a layer to press charges will go up to cover the perceived risk to the lawyer. At that point the business model will be forced to change away from a sue em all model.
If I was foolish enough to have given them money for Sim City locking me out of my origin account for wanting my money back is a scarey threat. oooh, I'm forced to continue not playing Star Wars: TOR instead of not playing it by choice.

Exactly. The DRM from Steam is tolerable becasue they have earned my trust that games will continue to be available. If the game was from EA but only required steam authentication I would have bought it without a second thought. Since it requires that I use EA/Origin and Steam to authenticate the game they get nothing from me.
GoG and steam have both sold me games I already owned on physical media to support good publishers and for the convienence should I want to play again in the future. I have also bought games from both services that I had pirated and enjoyed in the past when I didn't have the disposable income that I have now. Provide a good service and people will do the right thing.
This online DRM and it's spectacular failure doesn't just destroy the value of the new sim city it also destroys value of other games from EA. Gatling Gears is on sale from steam this week for about $2.50 normal price is $10. Since I like the genre and the style I looked at it. As soon as I saw the note that it requires the use of EA/origin to authenticate the copy I immediately hit the back button. This isn't even online DRM, as far as I can tell this is just a registration requirement. However even with a 75% discount I am not buying the game.
If each incident where he "forgets" to turn on the camera resulted in a mandatory 30 day unpaid suspension it might matter to the trooper. Of course the other half of that should be that troopers on suspension cannot trade on their membership in the state patrol for jobs. I.E. no moonlighting as a security guard or bouncer while on suspension. I'm not sure if acting as a stripper should count as taking advantage of their position as a trooper or not. If it actually hurts him in the wallet he may change his ways or he will have to start living out of his squad car.
If her tweets are not publishable how is she publishing them to twitter? If she instead meant to say her tweets are not re-publishable how does she expect twitter to provide the service of republishing her tweets in the process of deliviring them to her followers. She keeps using that word, I do not think it means what she thinks it means.

I should also mention Steam is very good about noting when additional DRM is applied and what the DRM requirements are.
