I guess I'd be a little more sympathetic if my mail man didn't see new mail in my box, recognize it was properly postaged and addressed and put it back in the box with my new mail. After all it's not like the rent check is in any hurry.
You are supposed to write a letter and hope it doesn't get stuffed in a closet so they don't have to deliver it (http://www.hinterlandgazette.com/2009/12/union-leader-ray-arcovio-claims.html)
It's part of the USPS's monopoly protections, this is why UPS and Fedex can't deliver anything to your mailbox.
I can't find my original source but I believe the USPS also has the power to prevent UPS and Fedex from undercutting their prices (or in other words set's the minimum price they can charge)
I guess I didn't read sarcasm in the original post. I may have missed it but I know people that truly believe what out_of_the_blue posted so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it was not sarcasm.
I'm not defending disney on this but a lot of the "distinct" features on this car aren't unique to it. In fact I imagine a lot of the features on this car were inspired from other cars.
But really that just shows how ridiculous Disney's position on this stuff is. By copying this car Disney isn't hurting it, it's making it a lot more known.
Hate to break it to you but the Ms. I-built-the-GPS-nav-system-of-the-DARPA-grand-challenge-winning-automated-car probably won't be volunterring for this, it'll more like be Ms. I-can't-be-bothered-to-pay-attention-to-what-I'm-getting-paid-to-do-because-i'm-busy-with-facebook/t exting/etc.
I believe a couple other iron fisted dictators that are activly opressing their own people are also on that commision so maybe it was irony week at the UN or something when they thought that one up.
It seems to me that a roller coaster wouldn't be braking that often, really only once at the very end so the question becomes whats the cost to benefit ratio of it?
Additionally it's my understanding that this technology has been available in freight locomotives for a while now so it seems a bit more marketing than substance.
Do you believe people should be able to associate with whomever they like or should the government tell you who can or can't be a friend or acquaintance?
Hopefully you answer that with you should be able to pick your friends. Let's take it a bit further, suppose your car is broken down and one of your friends is a mechanic. If you offer to pay him to help you fix it does that mean that the government is now allowed to prevent you from breaking off the friendship just because you paid him for labor?

Re: WHAT!
Not for first class mail (and really there aren't many truly free market's left)

Meh....
I hated clothes shopping anyway.

For politicians it is almost always about the appearance and not end result.
If franken can require Apple and Google to require privacy policies he gets to point to something he's "done" even though it's changed nothing.

Re: Re: Seems easy enough...
The article mentioned that this was for all SD cards regardless of stated purpose.
Seems easy enough...
Introducing the TE card backwards compatible with SD cards, not subject to ridiculous SD card tax.

Re: This is astounding...
Kind of a funny if it weren't true but I believe Libya was added to the UN human rights council this spring.
Re: Magnetic Brakes ?
That is an intesting point, why would a ride operator want to downgrade the brakes to a mechanical system with more potential points of failure.

Re: Re: Re: So What should be the options?
It's all about free association, working for someone is no different.
It would be ridiculous to have the government choose our friends for us it's no less ridiculous to have them regulate who people can hire or work for.
Re: So What should be the options?
Let's take a broader look
Do you believe people should be able to associate with whomever they like or should the government tell you who can or can't be a friend or acquaintance?

Re:
It was sent out as an email (if you've signed up to be able to see your bill online) and was an insert in the paper bill.
Re:
Interesting idea, but I still wouldn't pay for it....
