    Re: Re: OSK (as Ed)

So it is intolerant to be intolerant of those people who are intolerant of you? ROFL!!!

Using your "logic", then, it is the height of intolerance for Jews to be intolerant of NAZIs? And yes, I *DO* compare OSC to NAZIs because of some of his writings about gay people *DO* call for extermination and confinement to camps, etc.

OSC had some success with a series of novels, but so did L. Ron Hubbard and we all know his only talent was brainwashing idiots to fork over all their money to his "religion". That doesn't mean their writing was all that remarkable or "untouchable".

All of the vampire acronym a$$hats (NMPA, MPAA, NRAA, etc.) just make me that more likely to NOT purchase any music or movies.

    better value... (as Ed)

I have an unlocked T-Mobile Dash that I bought on Ebay for around $80. I have no contract with T-Mobile. I have a loyalty plan that gives me unlimited anytime voice, unlimited SMS/MMS, and unlimited data for $75/month. T-Mobile not only allows tethering but supports the included one-touch-connect on the phone. I just upgraded the phone's OS to Windows Mobile 6.5 and am enjoying a nice new interface that does everything I want and need without hassle, my browser can view flash websites without a problem, and I can purchase $5 batteries on Amazon and have one charged up and ready in my desktop charger for a quick swapout when needed. And at least in my area, I get far better coverage and call-quality than my friends with AT&T and their iPhones. And I don't have to install iTunes!

    why bother? (as Ed)

I still do not see the reason for such an attraction to iPhone. With the "nanny-state" policies of Apple and the money-hungry policies of AT&T, whatever interface advantages the iPhone may have are seriously degraded. There are far better choices for great phones out there that don't come with the tremendous "gotchas" that are mandatory with iPhone. Simply not having to install that wretched iTunes on my computer is incentive enough to NOT get an iPhone (or any other Apple product).

Can you shop around for cable tv? You cannot compare a cable company to cellular or software.

There is such a thing as common courtesy, something big entrenched corporations like Comcast (or AT&T Phone, Electric utilities, etc.) has forgotten. They've become the punchline to Lily Tomlin's Ernestine, "We don't care, we don't have to, we're the [insert corporation name] company."

And yes, as consumers we have the right to b*tch about it, so suck it up.

Comcast will never, ever save YOU (the customer) money (as Ed)

No matter what their offer, they consistently rely upon the "fine print" to nickle and dime you to death so you end up paying more. Never trust a Comcast offer.

    Re: smarter? (as Ed)

Yes, I am smarter than most. I bought a phone that does exactly what I want, has a huge supply of 3rd party apps available, most for free, I'm not locked into a contract with any carrier, and it connects to/syncs with 80% of the desktop computers in the world seamlessly. Oh, and it also can tether to my laptop if needed and that is sanctioned by the manufacturer AND the carrier I use. I paid about $80 for the phone on Ebay, bought 2 extra batteries (yes, they're user-changeable!) for $5 each, plus a desktop and car charger.

This phone runs Windows Mobile 6.1. I connect to my Windows XP, Win Vista, and now Win7RC computers without fail, can browse the net using the free Skyfire and watch YouTube or any other Flash site easily, run all sorts of apps. For some reason many of my friends using iPhones have to borrow my phone when I'm out with them because their's doesn't work or the battery is dead/dying. Funny how that happens.

who are these people? (as Ed)

Who does the CCP think they are, Apple Computer?

Apple is sort of like the Chinese (PRC) government's Great Firewall. They both operate on about the same intelligence and reasoning levels.

While Apple has some really nice hardware and OS, I would never buy their products simply because I refuse to be treated like a child or "protected for my own good".
