What is RSS?
RSS
I thought the question was slightly odd. I never thought that RSS was a replacement for E-mail (Who actually reads the stuff I subscribe to). However, I think RSS is a terrific way to browse the web, finding new content when it is posted, and reading it outside of the browser.

Software Update RSS feeds???
I humbly admit that I am sending this comment via a 56k modem connection because my only broadband option is out of my price range currently. That said, this slow connection has become MUCH slower because of the countless new programs, including Windows XP, that are running their "Automatic Update" features, typically in the background, while I am connected. I would GREATLY appreciate an RSS option for the programs I own to send update news to my RSS feed reader - in this case it's Google's personalized home page (WHICH IS AWESOME!!!). This way I could weed out the updates I'm not willing to sacrifice my precious bandwidth for and allow the ones I am in the comfort of my own customized interface, be it my homepage, my active desktop, etc. RSS seems to be COMPLETELY over-looked by the software Giants.
