when you think about it, the only people who can really respond to this poll are windows users, other OSs, such as OSX, dont require any of these things, thus, why i am swithing. :)
missing option
missing option: 0, I use Linux!
having none of this anti-software doesn't make it
Why is it that if somebody doesn't have ANY anti-something, that they are "living dangerously"?
Perhaps it should be renamed to "I don't use an OS/Software the forces me to use this junk"
Other OS
I don't need anti virus. I don't run windows so I don't have to worry about viruses.
However, I use a firewall. I run anti-spam on my mail. I run anti-popups on my browser. I encrypt my network connections to prevent sniffing. I use passwords on accounts.
Just because you don't use windows doesn't mean you're secure to all attacks.

For a long time security has been a trade off of internet usability and user abuse. It is one thing to have to have to protect ourselves from the malicious and anonymous virus but to have to protect ourselves from the industry giants in completely ludicrous. Any fortune 500 company that feels that they have to resort to “Hacking” in order to squeeze every last dollar from it’s customers should be examined by the public and made accountable for their actions. Is this not what they were screaming but just a very few years ago? They sure didn’t mind ruining family’s lives to protect their “Bottom Lines!” And where do we stand? Can we the individual afford to pay for the continuing technology to protect ourselves from these unlimited funded intruders? There are studies that confirm the steady decline in online users just because the usability of the internet has become littered with industrial predators who have nothing better to do than profit from the their users. The race is on, who will be first to destroy the information superhighway, and put us all back to listening to the town crier.
