Sprint-Nextel Gets Government Approval

The FCC and FTC both approved the Sprint-Nextel merger as expected, on the conditions the companies stand by commitments to offer service in their 2.5 GHz spectrum within 4 years. Now all that's left is to sort out the problems with their affiliates: Nextel Partners has agreed to arbitration and dropped its lawsuit, while Sprint got antitrust approval to buy one of its affiliates and is working on deals with others.
