If you've read Woz's autobiography (iWoz) you know the guy is really nice and often times, it leads to him getting duped and misquoted by reporters looking to catch someone saying something flagrant and headline worthy.
I'd almost bet the case of Woz supporting patent trolling was yet another misquote.
Since when is wire tapping illegal anymore?
I'd be flattered. That's a pretty cool figurine. Maybe Steve doesn't like it because it isn't Skeletor looking enough.
Rob is right. The Torrent route is TV heaven, and until someone is offering that up as a pay service, legally, I'll keep on seeding.
I will check out the Clicker site though.
Thanks for the heads Jaqenn. If they're all in HD, that may be incentive enough for me to buy Hulu premium!
I hope it was advertising, if only because if advertisements were more like this, I wouldn't mind watching them.
If Entrepreneur Magazine owns the word "Entrepreneur" and no one else could really use it, wouldn't that essentially make the word worthless?
Personally, I think it would be hard to deal with these kind of issues just as Iwata states. The issue you pointed out, where nintendo shut down a fan-made film based on the Legend of Zelda might have been necessary.
If the film were going to start actually turning a profit for the creator then they kind of crossed the line where they're profiting off someone else's intellectual property.
When you have to deal with things like this, it mentally makes downloading movies illegally that much more legitimate in the typical persons mind.
The movie distributors sure are doing a good job of making themselves look like assholes.
Sigh... I wish I was rich enough to send my kid to a private school that maybe doesn't have to deal with all this Zero Tolerance BS.
It's a pretty good movie and I'm pretty sure I saw a near DVD quality rip of it on a bittorrent tracker a few weeks ago.
I agree with CC's line of thought.
You can't expect to take a company's intellectual property, make a movie around it then cash in on it in theaters. I really can't blame Nintendo for stopping it once it hit theaters.
Now as for stopping its free distribution online, that's halfway dumb unless of course, they're making boatloads of cash off of it somehow.
I wonder about this all the time. I log into Gmail with an encrypted connection (https). So if I send personal email from here, I'd hope that its off limits and they can't see it, but on the other hand... is it really?
If IT take a screen capture or grabs some key strokes from a personal email, I guess its technically not off limits.
Ah yes, another reason for me to never, ever, ever listen to radio again. My free podcasts and $15 a month Zune pass are all I will ever need.
Eh, I remember not too long ago in the mid 90's when techno music was all the rage. I honestly couldn't tell the difference in mainstream vs independent in that sense.
It might not be that hard to find decent sounding hip hop dribble that was released independently.
Actually, simply calling someone a douche or any other dirty name isn't really grounds for libel (from what I gather from watching Penn & Teller's Bullshit).
Saying untrue things about someone or making accusations that would hurt their reputation on the other hand is.
Best bet is to say what you want, but never name or picture the person you're ranting about. If they happen to "know" who you're talking about then great!
I have to say, I almost agree! In fact, I'd give up my computer before I gave up my broadband!
Want to be a criminal, become a cop!
If I ever get an itching to become a low life criminal thug, I'll be sure to go join the NYCPD first. Then I'm Scott free to do what ever I want!
