I used VectorWorks back in 2003 for Stage Design, but I can't speak for its engineering potential.

Fair point, this implies that buying anything copywritten is 100% loss, because it retains no value. Wonder if Uncle Sam will change his mind when business claim 100% deductions rather than annual depreciation.

Good point, the position of you own a license not a product implies that the provider has an obligation to keep your copy working properly.
