Two guys from Good Old Games talking, among others, about piracy and their DRM-free model.
The question is how strong trends number 1 and 2 are.
Why should anybody care about Urie's job anyway? Apart from his relatives maybe.
Which people? The ones that get to receive the money I guess :-)
Agreed. I do not say that the actual tax incidence will be on the side of the buyer. I have only commented on the way tax collection can work.
"So, if I live in Austria and order a hard drive from Germany, do I have to pay a tax?"
It can be arranged the other way around - every HD sold in Austria (meaning by an Austrian company) will be taxed and the tax will be paid by the seller.
So, now all these French will open their wallets and start paying for everything they have otherwise been pirating. Right.
Another nail to the coffin of less and less significant French culture.
They are not even trying to look competent
"Senators who are supporting the bill have claimed that they've heard no objections to the bill"
Which means they have not a slightest idea about the way the medium they propose to regulate works. This is not unlike other politicians but being so blatant makes me wonder how foolish these guys can appear without feeling embarrassed.
