RIAA has the record - sorry - "music companies" as their customers. The music companies have artists as customers. The Artists have music buyers as customers.

In the past, when self-publishing was a lot harder it was a common fight where what was good for the record companies was good for the artists. Since the music companies are now fighting tooth and claw in a desperate fight against self-publishing, the RIAA has to highlight something they can all see as a common enemy and that is piracy!

The fight is to some extend a distraction from their internal descend into no longer representing artists and record companies at the same time. What is even worse: Even some of the "music companies" have changed with the times and even they can see that the past doesn't come back.

The only way to pretend to speak for all music companies and artists is to peg their raison d'etre to a fight against piracy, which most of them can agree is a problem or nuisance.

RIAA has no incentive to want a further development in the modern direction since it will cause its existance to be questioned further.

I do not see RIAA existing in its current form for much longer. It has lost a lot of its previous importance and power and eventually it will have to change its name.

Either you can or cannot tell if it is authorized. Let's examine each.

1. You can tell if it is authorized or not.

Then why do your paymasters take down their own videos and music that is authorized?

If it is unauthorized, can you tell if it is fair use? A song incidentally in the background (in poor quality) of someone's video of their child.

And, as someone else points out, if you can absolutely tell, then why do you file bogus takedowns on content that is not even yours? There should be a gigantic penalty for that.

2. You cannot tell if it is fair use.

Ron Paul's been consistent with most of his positions over the years.

Which is, despite his ideas at times, the biggest draw to him.

There's some hypocrisy, but we're human, we're all hypocrites, but at the same time, he was always against wars like Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, the bombings that Clinton did in in the late 90s, he was against the sanctions of Iraq, stating that something bad would happen to the US (back in 1998 he called that). He warned against the Housing Bubble Collapse in 2003/2004, he wanted to get rid of paper money and replace it with coined money (as it's harder to manipulate), even if I disagree with his position on it needing to be gold or silver, at least he's always been consistent about it.

Paul wanted to pull troops home from around the world and turn the money that the US was spending on foreign entanglements towards our infrastructure...

So, yeah, his ideas might not always be the best ones, but looking at his record, he was the best candidate that never became President.

Also, he never voted for raising pay for members of Congress.

I think these issues can be a bit more subtle. It's hard to tell (I haven't watched all three videos yet to know) the extent that the person recording is associated with the group. I can see why the cop would ask the person in part two to either sit down or stand further away otherwise the cop would be unable to turn his back to the cameraman (who can then potentially attack the cop or remove evidence from the scene when no one is moving). It's also hard to tell what previous engagements exist, there could have been prior contexts where this person has had issues with the cops on similar issues and that's why the cops just want this person out of the way.

Also, if the person is not associated with the group there could be an issue of privacy if the camera holder is really close to the cops discussing the matter. Perhaps the group being questioned by the cops don't want cameras on them. Granted, they are in a public place but when being questioned by cops they maybe asked private questions or questions that they may not want on tape, especially if those questions involve giving the cops useful information on other people who may retaliate.
