You wouldn't believe the level of hatred this is generating when people get aware of those actions against the blind. A simple way to nullify these morons is to rise awareness. The backlash will do the rest.

Ah Nintendo.. Ironically the ONLY reason I bought their console was because I could easily squeeze shitloads of games in an HDD and play them at will (aka piracy). So far I've found one or two that would really be worthy buying but really... Nintendo. I'll not buy next console though. In fact I think I'm done with locked up consoles and server based DRM.

realising the benefits from going 'free' doesn't for one second mean that EA has learned anything. their fans are still prepared to play the 'old game', even more so now it's free. the chances are that they would gain more if the newer games were released at least at sensible prices but that would involve in EA having to admit that the 'old strategy' of cramming every new game with as mush DRM as possible is a flawed strategy. no game maker, movie maker or music maker is ever going to admit to that. it would mean that the customers
knew more about what they want than the makers and that is an admission that is never gonna happen!!

CEO seems to have a very good case for the specific reason given being ridiculous. Using "public safety" as a reason for holding back some of these informations seems so far out that even the commission has to give them up!

The commissions plan for trying to get on equal footing with USA in terms of letting industry representatives participate in TAFTA would completely vanish if there is a full disclosure ruling.

Even more so, even a full disclosure is likely to leave enough room for setting up future systems to get around the pesky "transparency". The transparency law used here is only 13 years old and extremely non-specific, so the commission will of course be able to find far more holes for keeping priviledged information systems running.

In the world of trade agreements, where logic is a city on the moon and the feelings and guesses from the industries are solely what the negotiators act upon, we will not see a move towards more openness since public interests are deemed to be "irrelevant". That, of course, is only partially true in most cases and completely untrue in the rest!
