The trolls will say that four major Hollywood studios simultaneously filing DMCA takedowns on a documentary they do not own is just an anomaly. A coincidence.

I might believe that if they didn't file bogus DMCA takedowns so often.

But even worse, I might believe it if FOUR OF THEM DIDN'T DO IT AT ONCE on a video that they do not like -- and do not own.

Coincidence? All four at once? Anomaly?

This was a deliberate and criminal act.

when there is something to hide, the most ridiculous reasons and excuses are used to stop information from being shared. this definitely seems like a clear case of that here. as for Rahm Emanuel and Lisa Madigan, i would suggest the best course of action, when voting time comes around, is to vote for others. neither of them seem to be doing their job but are having a good try at being as obstructive as possible. perhaps being out of a job might make them realise that they were supposed to be representing the interests of the people?

Well, it's finally been said. The copyright loving troll has out and out said that the only artist is one who does it for money, not for love of the art or because he has something to say.
Let's forget the possibility of making money while not relying on the exclusion principle; let's ignore the possibility that many works are on the site deliberately with their creator's permission; nope, the only artist is a professional one, who needs to exclude as many people as possible from viewing his art and if his wish to exclude means that the little people's right and ability to make speech and art must be destroyed, that's a small price to pay.

It's a perfectly cromulent argument from the view of one who MAKES stuff, doesn't steal it: obviously items on Pirate Bay available for free removes income from the creator. That may well be a crucial margin for those starting or obscure.
