hey hike, you Google Shill who still thinks that internet freedom means you can steal anything from the internet and that makes it right because it's the internet. deep packet inspection does not take away your internet freedoms either it just lets the government monitor your internet connection which is perfectly ok. you still have your freedoms so long as you don't break the law. and your fear mongering that the government will abuse their monitoring powers is unfounded. you just want to be able to steal everything off the internet and hack banks and corporations so that you can transfer money into your account and you want to hack the government and the power grid to shut it down and you don't want the government to know about it. you know google is paying you and you won't admit it either. mike stop pretending that this is about internet freedom. it's about theft and you want to be able to cause havoc and get away with theft and not be stopped.

Xbox has done me very well over the years. I have had my Xbox fixed by the company twice, but that was years ago and it works just fine. I bought a newer slim model and the power supply fan stopped working. Xbox replaced it with no problem. Yes, each time I was without my Xbox for roughly a week, but they gave me a month of Live each time and I got a lot of stuff done around the house. (I'm starting to wonder if my wife is breaking it on purpose.)

There are people in the world that just like to be negative, but there's not too much of anything out there that's not going to have a problem from time to time. It's just a machine/computer. Things happen. It's not reason to bash the system. They're in it to make money. If you don't like it then don't buy one. Definitely don't visit the site about the new one just so you can complain. It's pathetic.

I'll bet you're a COD fan.

Firstly, I think the internet is the most democratizing invention to have ever graced this planet. EVER ! WE can talk to each other freely. Even if one of us was in a Iran, we could proxy up and communicate.
That power of not relying on the media or the government for information is truly liberating. Just thinking about it for 5min makes you realize it's power.
So I believe, because of my beliefs, you underestimate the greatness of the connections we now have. You see it, but I don't think you realize the power in it.

You highlight the same problem (in more detail) with the intellectual argument compared to the blatant dumbed down propaganda.
The intellectual argument acknowledges all the details and complexities to its detriment.

War was seen by millions of people to be a really retarded thing to do. Want Sadam gone.... Assassinate the cunt, what the fuck are you going to war for.
■ At that time Sadam was NO threat to his neighbors or the outside world.
■ Sadam was less of a threat than war was to his people.
But the intellectual argument defeated itself and it's intended goals.
Of course the* other shit* you clearly showed was relevant but those nuances in complexity water down the message. It was however part of the intellectual argument. Not all of it. Only the part that supported the spammed narrative. And so that part was used to say..."see, even the Anti-War hippies agree".

Like against someone who ONLY says YES.
The intellectual argument is NO but...bla bla, little bit yes but NO because bla bla maybe yes but OVERALL NO.

AIM = No War
TACTIC = Agree with some Pro-War but say "Overall No"
While Pro-War don't acknowledge any argument from the Anti-War side.
Didn't see pro-War people saying the weapon inspectors didn't find WMD's or that War would kill more people than no war. Not a mention of alternative ways to take out Sadam.
Their message was clear and didn't allow nuance even when facts disproved it.

That Iraq "WMD" example is annoying.... to many nuances and details.
Could be here all year dissecting the use of propaganda for that war.

Back to "Cyber War" lol

Nuanced intellectual arguments only appeal to, and are listened to by intellectual people who have the time to contemplate.
( not the masses who are too busy in life and some that are too stupid )

The phrase "Cyber War" does not acknowledge complexity. "cyber war" = BAD
The intellectual argument is blaa blaa Cyber War is a threat but it's over exaggerated and bla bla cyber threats can be dealt with in other ways.
Self defeating.
The masses hear both sides say Cyber War is real.

End of, they are not listening anymore.

I feel sorry for everyone who voted for Obama.

We knew. But we also realized that Romney was worse.

I expect Romney would do all the shit that Obama does, maybe even more (following in George W. Bush's footsteps) and then would push a hard-right morality agenda as well.

The Soviet Union had a one party system. We have, essentially, a one party system with a ridiculous and appalling opposition party to create the illusion of having a choice.

Ultimately, who ever gets into office is going to pull the same corrupt crap while distracting us with wedge issues to make it seem like they're doing their job.

I'm amazed at how much you're all arguing over the architecture of previous generation consoles when the original article is about the next generation.
I have a PS3, a 360, a pretty decent laptop and an Android. I play games on all of them.

I watced the release of XBone on my 360.
I am disgusted by the way Microsoft has seemingly tossed aside hardcore gamers to cater to an unknown demographic! hardcore gamer with a family, I don't watch much tv. I work, take care of my wife and kids, and after everyone is in bed, play multiplayer on Halo 4 or something else. I don't buynew games very often
because I have kids and $60.00 is alot to shell ofut for a plastic disk.
I am incensed at Microsoft's lack of disregard for the gaming community in whole by making the console as gamer infriendly as possible. Hardcore gamers could care less if they can switch between live tv, movie, to game and back again by voice command! They buy the console to play games! And until they make hand and body movement recognition lag free I don't think well be seeing any hardcore FPS, RPG, or sports titles sold that don't need a controller. This new console...(spit) isn't a console! It's a blu-ray player that allows you to switch to live tv while surfing the internet and takking to buddies on Skype ... that spies on you.
Don't we already have something like that?
Oh yeah! ... the PC!!!
Oh, but this one will do it 24/7 because it's always on!
Oh, sorry, I forgot... it'll play XB one games (which prices will be higher on because the software store you go to will have to cover the fees that Microsoft charges them for selling used games that they take in on trade from savvy consumers who don't want to pay full price.)
In the end, the one who gets hurt the most from corporate stupidity, is the corporation itself. Microsoft will lose a lot of customers if they follow through with this plan. And Sony would do well to pay attention to the bad hype that Xbox One is getting already and modify their plan accordingly for the PS4.
