Cingular To Launch 3G In 18 Markets Next Month
Some documents on a Cingular web site have revealed it plans to launch 3G services using UMTS in 18 markets on November 1. Things are getting a bit more exciting for high-speed networks here in the US: EV-DO from two carriers, along with MVNOs looking to do some interesting things with the networks, and now the impending UMTS launch with even faster HSDPA to follow. Having several high-speed options is great, but how operators implement and sell them could still use some work, as pricing issues abound.
