Another Regional Carrier Up For Grabs
While the merger machinations of the country's biggest carriers get most of the attention, smaller regional carriers continue to quietly chug along, making deals of their own. This time, it's Minnesota-based Midwest Wireless that's up for grabs, with Verizon Wireless and Alltel named as the leading suitors. The motivations for these smaller deals are much the same as for the bigger ones: to gain subscribers, but more importantly, spectrum.
