Most European Mobile Calls Made From Work Or Home
A new study from a research firm says that two-thirds of mobile voice minutes in Western Europe are used inside homes or offices. That's a pretty stunning figure when you consider it means that most of those calls are made with what's generally a cheaper fixed-line alternative available. This follows an early survey that found a majority of Europeans interested in converged fixed/mobile products, highlighting the potential of systems like UMA that promise to deliver the functionality of mobile with the cheap costs of fixed VoIP through a single device. It's those benefits in which users are interested, not converged products that don't deliver them.
