Shock: Carriers Not Interested In WiFi Phones
In news that will surprise absolutely none of you, mobile operators really aren't that interested in offering dual-WiFi/cellular phones. It's almost amazing that this needs an article, but all of the hype about VoWiFi lately seems to be getting a little out of hand, so perhaps it's time to remind people that the mobile operators certainly aren't going to push for this technology. Whether or not outsiders can wedge their way into the market or figure out ways to route around operator restrictions is a different story. But, when looking at WiFi phones, you have to remember that the mobile carriers are a big obstacle.
