Study Says Cellular Base Stations Are Safe

A study out of Japan has released findings that cellular tower base stations do not have a negative impact on human cells. This is good news, but you gotta wonder about the source of the study: a group of Japanese mobile phone carriers. Do you think the results could have been biased? But biased or not, the study seems to have been conducted in a scientific manner, exposing human cells to RF emissions 10x the legal limit in Japan, and then examining about 20,000 different genes in the cells for reaction to the RF. There was no impact detected at the genetic level. The World Health Organization generally agrees that cellular phones and their towers are not a health risk for people. Bear in mind this study is likely only relevant at Japanese cellular frequencies, and as we discuss other RF technologies like BWA at 3.5GHz or 700MHz, the results are not applicable.
