DoCoMo Quitting PHS Business
It's probably not a huge surprise, but DoCoMo has said that they're going to stop signing up new users to their PHS service and will get out of the market entirely in two to three years. That will mean that Willcom is the only Japanese PHS supplier with a nationwide network. Willcom used to be DDI (part of KDDI), but was sold last summer. Basically, all of the carriers have realized that it's time to move on from PHS.
