Unlocked Treo $600, No $700 Dollars
Apparently PalmOne made a bit of a mistake the other day when they announced the sale price of an "unlocked" GSM version of the Treo 650. They offered it for $599 (still noticeably more than what carrier-locked versions go for), but apparently that wasn't high enough. A day later shot up to $699, and PalmOne claimed they made a "mistake." By "mistake," we're guessing that they had some sort of agreement about the price differential with Cingular, and this didn't cut it. In the meantime, those who got in their orders early still got the phone at the cheaper price. Others are out of luck. That's what you get for procrastinating.
