DoCoMo Goes For Cheap 3G Phones
Slowly, but surely, DoCoMo is realizing that charging a lot for an offering doesn't attract users. While they're still annoyed that they had to go flat-rate (even if it helped bring them back to the table), they're finally going to start offering cheaper phones as well, to try to encourage people to make the jump from 2G to 3G. While everyone always hopes that these devices with more features will command a premium, it's worth remembering that you have to actually get people to use the services before they value them. Charging super high prices doesn't encourage anything -- especially when everyone is pretty happy with what they already have.
