More Problems With Text Spam
While it's becoming fairly common in Asia, text spam is still somewhat rare in North America. However, it's coming. Here's one example of a woman in Canada getting bombarded by text spammers -- where the situation was made worse by the fact that her carrier, Fido, wasn't prepared to deal with the issue, gave her conflicting information and initially wasn't willing to help. At this point, wireless carriers obviously need to have some plan in place to deal with text spammers, and customer support people need to be aware of the issue.
