Telecom Italia Merges With...TIM
We've been following the re-entry of multiple fixed telecom providers into the mobile space. Sprint brought back in the spin-off Sprint PCS, British Telecom is going with an MVNO, and AT&T lost their spinoff, so will also go MVNO. Back in the EU, Telecom Italia has bought enough shares of Telecom Italia Mobile to re-integrate the wireless unit into the parent company. Just more evidence of the global need for scale, and bundled services.
