Mobliss To Offer Mobile Video Content
In what may be the best mobile content name of the year, mobile content publisher Mobliss is launching the "Thumbdance" channel. The mobile video channel will offer content from IFILM, JibJab, Weekend Vibe and sports from Ally Distribution. Some of the content will be ported to mobile, some will be designed for mobile, and some will be exclusively mobile. This content sounds good. When we hear talk of "TV on your phone", we cringe at the though of 60 minute dramas and 30 minute sitcoms that don't fit your schedule and are small and hard to see, but when we see this type of mobile video, we think there is opportunity for success. (For those non US readers who don't get "Thumbdance", it sounds like a popular cable TV channel "Sundance" which plays artsy films and is spun off of Robert Redford's Sundance film festival.)
