One Million FeliCa Phones?
While mobile payment solutions have been slow to catch on in Europe, it looks like Japan is getting the necessary infrastructure in place. NTT DoCoMo has announced that, since July, they've now sold one million FeliCa-enabled phones. This doesn't mean everyone's using them, but it does get them out in users' hands, which is the first big step. They currently have 13,000 stores and 2,700 vending machines that are FeliCa-enabled as well. Now they just have to get people to start using them.
