Too Connected
For all the arguments over whether or not local governments should provide free WiFi, here's one amusing argument against the idea: it makes it more difficult to get work done. A student working on his dissertation tried to hide out in a library somewhere with the intent of getting some writing done. However, as he opened his laptop, he discovered the open WiFi network went to work right away downloading email and popping up webpages (it's not clear why the web pages suddenly popped up). Apparently, the writer never realized you can turn the WiFi in your laptop off.
