Nokia Back With WiMax
So, it turns out that after the surprise announcement that Nokia was dropping out of the WiMax forum, it only took a month for Intel to put enough pressure on them to rejoin. Business Week snuck it in at the bottom of the article, but it's still quite odd that they left for a month. The excuse they give doesn't make much sense either: "Nokia left because the group was working at the time on areas Nokia wasn't interested in. Now, she says, Nokia wants back in to contribute to the evolution and development of WiMax." Whoa. I mean, we knew that Nokia was struggling, but we had no idea they couldn't even handle one month's worth of WiMax Forum dues unless they were on critical matters.
