How Honest Are WiFi Aggregators?

Glenn Fleishman at Wi-Fi Networking News has done an excellent job taking a look at the claims of various WiFi aggregators to see how many hotspots they really offer. In what sounds like quite a bit of tedious work comparing the different listings, it certainly looks as though Boingo is the most conservative in counting their hotspots, while GoRemote (formerly GRIC) is, to put it mildly, somewhat misleading. For example, the company lists 37 separate locations in a single hotel. Since (mostly) corporate buyers are often making decisions on aggregators based on number of locations, it's good to know which providers can be trusted and which are playing games with their numbers to pump them up.
