NextNet Wireless Making Lots Of Announcements

NextNet Wireless, which has gotten plenty of attention recently due to Craig McCaw's ownership stake in the company, and questions about just what he planned to do with it, seems to be ramping up their PR strategy this week with plenty of announcements. Yesterday, they announced three US deployments with regional ISPs. Today, they said that Sprint Canada is using their wireless network to offer broadband wireless services in a trial over the next few months. Just a little more evidence that McCaw is picking up the pace on his new plans. It's also worth pointing out that the article notes the system doesn't require an external antenna or any truck roll for the service provider. They just send a box that the user can set up themselves - which is a big improvement from most previous broadband wireless operations, and should definitely cut down on the costs associated with rolling out the system.
