Forget Bluesnarfing, Take A Taxi

We've already talked about how the whole bluesnarfing thing was overhyped, but apparently it worked in convincing the British government to tell all Parliament members to disable Bluetooth on their phones. Now, Guy Kewney takes a closer look at why bluesnarfing is not worth worrying about and is only designed to get more attention (and security consulting work) for the guy who discovered it. Kewney also points out that about the only thing you'd get if you successfully bluesnarfed someone is the phone numbers in their phone. For that, he suggests, it's much easier and more likely to pay off, if you just follow around Parliament members and hop into the taxi cabs they just vacated.
