No, This Time We're Serious About Video Calls
If there's one thing you can count on, decade after decade, it's predictions that people will start making video phone calls. The latest is mixing it with a 3G twist and suggesting that, even though regular videophones have failed on a regular basis, it's going to be a big success on 3G phones. Unfortunately, they don't bother to explain why, and the reason for that may be that they're just guessing - like every other similar prediction. Most people have realized that there's little compelling reason to hold a video phone call in most cases (yes, there are a few exceptions). Unless a new compelling reason comes along, then I'm not convinced video calling is really that big of a deal.
