Does Anyone Want One Minute Mobile Soap Operas?
ontent providers continue to push forward with plans to try to move broadcast-style material to mobile phones, with little evidence that anyone actually wants to watch a TV program on their phone. The latest is a new mobile soap opera for people on the go who want to stop for a minute at a time to watch the tiny video clip of the soap opera. I'm clearly not the target audience for this, but I'm wondering who is? In what situations is it going to make sense to watch a one minute video clip of a soap opera on your mobile phone? People still use mobile phones as a way to communicate, not as a way to receive broadcast content.
