Starmap Mobile Alliance Offers Inter-Carrier Data Services
While there has been a lot of noise over major EU wireless operators joining together in Freemove (Mike noted yesterday that it took Freemove a year just to agree on a name), a consortium of smaller operators, separately from Freemove, have banded together in the Starmap Mobile Alliance (which we also mentioned last year when they first announced this plan). The difference between the two Alliances is that one actually provides service along with a catchy name. Starmap, including mmO2, Wind, Amena, One, Sunrise, Telenor Mobile and Pannon GSM, offers flat rate roaming rates and interoperable picture messaging.
