Who Grew More In 2003? GSM OR CDMA

Well, if you want the answers, click over to this story from RCR Wireless News. The short of it is that both air interfaces grew quite nicely through the year, but overall GSM is growing more rapidly than CDMA. With respect to 3G technologies as a subset, CDMA is growing more rapidly, but we attribute that to the fact that their technologies (1xRTT and EV-DO)were ready for prime time about 3 years before similar GSM evolutions (UMTS FDD). Thus for 3G, CDMA has won the sprint, but not the marathon. Either way, we believe both these technologies will continue to co-exist for quite some time.
